Sadie Says - It's Snow!

Mom rousted me out of bed shortly after 5:00 A.M. and asked if I wanted to go outside. I acted as though I didn't hear her for a second or two. Yawning....Picked myself up, curled my back towards the ceiling, stretched my right front leg, then the left. After my oxygen promoting morning routine we headed out the back door. With the door opened, and the light switched on to illuminate the darkness, I saw these things floating in the air. Bugs! Millions and Millions of BUGS! I'm in heaven as my head went from side - to - side trying to grab them up. Hmmmm, no crunch. How disappointing... I was havin' such a great time! The snow has stopped and warmth in the ground has started making water out of what fell.
Before it started to melt, Mom was quick to grab the camera and look out the back after daylight arrived...
Recognize the cul-de-sac?

Always nice to see deer in the back yard!

Our dog loves chasing flies, too - it's hilarious! Not so keen on flies that are already dead, though. Just likes to snap at flies - sometimes when it's difficult to see the flies, we wonder if he's going crazy. It appears he's just randomly snapping at air!

Tom Sorenson - Sadie goes after both, but of course the live ones keep her busy longer. She is a funny puppy! ;)

Wow, snow already? It is gorgeous to look at, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it just yet.

Simply Outdoors - Yes, snow. It hasn't stuck on the surfaces yet after this melted off. Have more snow showers and wind in the forecast for another day.

I know I'm not ready for any extended events.

I am thinking of those hardy individuals in South and North Dakota that have been challenged the last couple of days. Hope all gets back to normal as soon as possible for them.

I miss and love the first falling snow. The air is perfect while it is snowing but then it goes frigid after the snow is done, which is the part I don't miss.

No snow for us here in Texas. It was 75 degrees today;)

Debo Hobo - Yes, I can do without the cold wind that has followed the snow. However, I don't envision myself leaving Iowa to head for warmer winters.

Bless you and the 75 degree weather today. Bet you had a nice day! Have a great weekend. ;)

I love a good blizzard as long as I don't have to go anywhere.

I love your Sadie stories. :)

The Hunter's Wife - I don't mind blizzards either. As long as the pantry is stocked and I have activities to keep me occupied. The season is soon upon us here.

Sadie sure does have an imagination sometimes. ;)

That's a beautiful scene with the snow and deer. Sadie had a ball playiny with the snowflakes. I bet she was cute. Keep Sadie stories coming..I love them! :)

Marian Love Phillips - Yes, it was a very peaceful until the wind came up. Those little deer in the picture have been staying close to the house as of late...

Sadie got a ride in the car last week to retrieve the mail. When we got back she took off at a hard gallop down one of her favorite trails. A deer came flying out at the other end as I stood watching. Panicked, the deer took off just before Sadie came barrelling up behind...skidded to a stop, looked around and took off in hot pursuit...;)

She is entertaining to say the least.

I just realized those are dear in the back. Now that really looks like my backyard growing up.

Debo Hobo - The cloudy, low light, plus my camera capabilities didn't allow a clear distance picture. It is fun to try to see what comes out.

Glad you see things tht remind you of what you saw when you were growing-up. Hope they are fond memories.;)
