Earlier in the evening, on a walk we heard vocalizations that would be exchanged from a mother to her pups.Yes, I am pretty sure the coyote family is exploring their territory. Sure do wish they would catch some rabbit,a ground hog, ground squirrels,a red squirrel,or two...;)
(Circled are some coyote puppy prints impressed into the mud)

Those devil dogs are everywhere. Be careful, although most of the time they leave us humans alone.
I've never seen 'yote pups before.
simplyoutdoors- In the 16 years we have lived here I have actually seen 7 coyotes. Lots of vocalizations and prints.
Last deer season, closing night, I was walking back to the house from the timber. There were three howlers within a 1/4 mile triangle of our homestead. I stopped to listen. Still kind of awesome though.
Deer feeding in the field,
almost dark, then all of the sudden howls erupt. ;)
Neat! I haven't seen any coyotes this year but I've heard them and plenty of fox activity here this year. The most ever.
windyridge - Yes,occasionally we run across some red fox in the vicinity too. The red fox are cute, but both are sly creatures...;)
